Trick or treat

Halloween is coming this weekend, my friends had rented a hotel room for the party two months ago. It`s seem like everyone is crazy about that but I am not. I really had a great time last year, however, I spent too much time on thinking about what to wear. I really ran out of my ideas. This time, the situation is still the same, I have no ideas! I don`t know why people should dress up to celebrate it, I know it`s fun, but I mean, could we just go out for dinner and celebrate it in a normal way?

I was thinking about what coffee should I get when I was on my way to school this morning, and finally I decided to have Caramel Macchiato, 2 pounds of vanilla syrup and extra caramel source on the top, light ice. The last thing I need to do is to choose the size, and I got the venti one. Usually, it comes with 6 pounds of vanilla syrup, 6 pounds? Oh my god, I can`t image how sweet of it.

After class, I went to the Halloween Custume store to find some inspirations. Luckly, I found one. It`s a trench coatch from the movie “The Matrix” and the price is aceptable. Thanks god.

Indian Summer

Is it the season named Autumn that we are experiencing now or not? Because I feel like that I am still in summer. It`s so hot today.  Due to the high temperature, I am very desired to have ice cream, milk shakes and frappuccino, I do and I mean it.

This morning, I went to Berkeley for the volleyball club once a week. When I walked with my friend, Jason, I was wondering that why it is so hot today. So I ask Jason. Then, he told me, “Because we are in Indian Summer.” “What?!” I said. “The Indian Summer,” he repeated.

Oops, well, OK, fine.

I hear about the four seasons, but I have never heard about the Indian Summer. Is it a summer that after real summer or just before Autumn? Where is it exactly from? I don`t know.

In order to know more about the Indian Summer, so I google it when I got home. Simply, it is a meteorological phenomenon that occurs in the autumn. It refers to a period of considerably above normal temperatures, accompanied by dry and hazy conditions, usually after there has been a killing frost. Depending on latitude and elevation, the phenomenon can occur in the Northern Hemisphere between late September and mid November. The definition is searched from WIKIPEDIA. So, I was actually given a lesson from Nature.

By the way, this is what I got from Starbucks. This is the Vanilla Cream Frappuccino with chocolate chip. It is a cream base beverage and vanilla flavor. If you add some chocolate chip inside , it tastes like cookie ice cream. Please remember, one pound syrup is enough, or it will become too sweet to drink.  

Missed Affogato

I remember my friend, Noelle who introduced the “Missed Starbucks” in her final project last semester. I was very impressed cause I had actually worked for it before I came to the United States. When I watched her video, I was so excited. I was talking in my minds “Wait a minute, did you just say Captain what? Are you sure they have it?” On the other day, I went to Starbucks and ordered this missed drinks. “Oh my god,” I yelled in minds. “they did have it.” I was so shock that I could get a beverage which is no longer existed on the menu board. It`s so unbelievable.

But today, I wanna talk about another drinks which is not existed on the menu board too. That is Affogato. Basically, it`s coffee frappucino base and caramel source on the top. However, it adds one or two more espresso (depends on your favorite) on the top above caramel source. I know it`s very complicated. Trust me, it tastes like the best drinks you`ve ever had. One problem might be faced is not every Barista knows it. Anyway, don`t waste your time on sitting and wondering what is it, just go and get it.

Caffeine is the trouble maker

Have you ever met a situation is like you are not comfortable,
but you really need caffeine to wake you up in class or meeting?
Yes, I have!
Actually, I`m not a caffeine person before I worked for Starbucks.
But now,
I can`t even image my life without it.


There was one time when I worked and I remembered that I was sick. I told my partner that I really needed caffeine to focus on 8-hour working. She told me that it was not good for my me, cause it would make my illness worse.

(Due to some Chinese tradition, my mom said the same thing to me)

However, I was not listening. I decided to have a cup of coffee when I was in break time.
Things had happened after coming home.
I felt so uncomfortable. I was headache, sleepy and felt painful.
My temperature was high, I was out of control and the only thing that I could do is lying on my bed.
By midnight, I was taken to the hospital.
"What an experience!"
I never did that again, I`ve learned it.

Today, Rain (my friend) and I go to the Starbucks buying coffee.
She told me that she didn`t feel good because her stomach hurt.
And one sound suddenly dings in my head, "oh~no!"
I was giving my effort to persuade her not to do that,
but she was not listening!
Oops~shit happened.
Let`s see what would happen to her?
I really hope that everything is fine ^^

Pumpkin is back

Guess what?
Pumpkin Spice Latte is back this Fall!
well~I don`t know.
"Come on, it`s pumpkin," said my friend.
"But pumpkin with latte? Are you sure? I`m not sure," I reply.
Starbucks encourages people to customize their favorite drinks,
and they offer new beverages seasonally.
However, not all of them are as good as they already have.

To be honest, my favorite one is always latte,
but when it comes to the seasonal drinks,
there is one coffee that I like most,
it is Toffeenut Latte which offer only in December.
Christmas is a festival with joy and I like it,
oops~
only two months left, the X`mas is coming,
I can`t wait to celebrate it

Coffee, Tea or Me ?

It is a joke that we usually made it for fun.

My friend, Sam who faces this problem every morning,
or when the time he are at the coffee shop.
He always spends lots of time standing before the cashier,
and thinking about "coffee or tea?"
but still cannot decide which one he wanna have.



For my personal, it`s like Haagen-Dazs and BEN&JERRY`S
I like them both !
In Taiwan, we have lots of different kinds of beverages,
and most of them are made of tea.
For example, green tea, black tea, fruit tea and so on.
An interesting thing is almost everyone has one wile you are walking on the street,
however, it`s different in the USA
most people have coffee while walking on the street,
and it`s always lots of coffee shops but fewer tea shops !

caffeine and other drugs

Sometimes, I have to say "life is hard"
It is not only about the shit things happened, it`s about the emotion !
you would never know that what will happen to you
you could be happy all night and suddenly feel sad at one moment
one thing is right, we say "human being is an emotional animal"
it means both of us, male and female.

A reported said that caffeine makes people feel happy
" Is it true? I`m not so sure," I questioned myself
one thing for sure is that I drink coffee everyday and I enjoy it
It could be the only beverage that I have one day,
well, I know it`s a little exaggerated
I just wanna say how much I love to have it in my life.


And actually, there is someone has the same feelings as mine

What a surprised, is it?
That`s really a good start of a day ^^

Just La Marzocco !

La Marzocco is a very technical machine,
it requires the Barista to pay lots of works on it
Not only could you find it at every SBX,
well, I mean you could find it in the past years
cause they`ve already upgraded the coffee machine during recent years,
but also it is existed in other coffee shops
For example, the BlueBottle !

To be honest, I have to say that the coffee of BlueBottle is as good as SBX
Even better, sometimes, 
Why?
"I don`t know"
One thing for sure is I have one more choice
